Hello! My name is Jesse Adelman, and I'm an independent Linux Administration and Systems Engineering Consultant in San Francisco. I've been doing what I love for over 8 years, taking pride in helping organizations to maximize their technology resources. I love to work from high-level business or program goals, to create all-encompasing solutions that meet or exceed those goals. I'm very interested in projects that reshape and refine an organization's technology to better serve their needs, rather than constraining the organization to the limits of the entrenched technology.
I very much enjoy working with small and medium sized organizations with a creative and progressive outlook. I have a rate structure which favors non-profits, and also favors longer-term contractual arrangements. While I do not offer strict "24/7" support, arrangements can be made to ensure my availability for critical technology transition periods, or for time periods critical to the success of your organization or business.
Since my focus is working with Free and Open Source Software systems and tools (known simply as "F/OSS" for short), I can offer a solution which is very cost effective and very easy to customize for your needs. However, interoperability between Open Source and so-called "proprietary" software will always be a top priority.
I'm also very strong in documentation creation and maintenenace. I can create guides, HOWTOs, and installation journals, which can be used by you, your technical staff and your users.
